What does it cost to become an independent travel agent?
The initial enrollment fee is currently $199.00/agent, and covers your first year of enrollment. Monthly hosting fees are based on the level of enrollment you select.
When can I start booking travel once I join?
Once you have completed and submitted all your paperwork, and we have verified the information you provided, your onboarding will start immediately.
How are commissions paid?
Commissions are typically released from the vendor after the client has completed travel. A "Rule of Thumb" which our Accounting Office follows is commission is paid by direct deposit twice per month, on the 15th and 30th following receipt of commission in our office. (Payment days that fall on a weekend or holiday will be paid the next business day.) Processing times for a paper check generally take longer and incur a small fee.
Will I be allowed to get travel agent discounts?
Agent "perks" vary and minimal thresholds must be met to qualify for travel agent discounts and/or FAM trips. Specific information is made available to agents where applicable. Agents must be affiliated with LANGFORD Travel LLC, et al for at least 3 months and actively selling before we will grant approval to participate in a FAM trip, or use our agency ID information for the purpose of taking advantage of discounted travel. *Note: Many supplier-offered industry discounts require the agent to hold an industry-issued card such as IATA, CLIA or TRUE. Please refer to your assigned Admin Team Representative on agent qualification and enrollment.
What type of travel can I book?
Hotels, rental cars, train tickets, airline tickets, cruises, tours, theme parks, Disney, Universal Studios, Resorts, and other attractions worldwide. The possibilities are ENDLESS! As an Independent Agent under the LANGFORD Travel LLC, et al hosted umbrella, you can leverage our vast network of hundreds of suppliers to create memorable vacation experiences for your clients. And for non-commissionable components like airline tickets, you can charge a service fee.
Can I work with a partner or can my spouse work with me?
Yes. Our host agency services supports various business structures, from corporations to sole proprietorships and partnerships. Additional rules and policies may apply; please request this information during your welcome call. Please note that every person involved with your travel business must be vetted and insured with proper E & O Insurance to function as an independent agent affiliated with LANGFORD Travel LLC, et al.
